Charlotte
This media unit is lovingly crafted in London Plane heartwood, hand-sanded to reveal its inner beauty. Set atop strong, solid wood legs, it’s named for Wimbledon champion Charlotte Cooper, a tennis pioneer with power (even in a long skirt). This table is large enough for a very wide screen – perfect for those Hawk-Eye line call replays. In!
Charlotte Cooper
This English tennis player won five singles titles at Wimbledon and seven mixed doubles titles. She became the first female Olympic individual champion ever when she won the tennis gold medal in 1900, even though she had become deaf several years earlier. She took part in 21 Wimbledon championships, reaching 8 consecutive finals – a record that stood until Martina Navratilova smashed it in 1990. Charlotte was one of the few women at the time to serve overhead. Power, accuracy and endurance – she played in championship events into her 50s.
