This media console blends craftsmanship with creativity, so I’ve named it for artist Louise Bourgeois. The rich London Plane heartwood reveals mysterious depths in its colour bands and patterns. I designed the V-shaped legs to add an industrial sensibility. The interior space reminds me of Louise’s Cells series – fill it with objets d’art that reflect your unique style.
You have to admire Louise’s dedication to art and (a long) creative life. Over eight decades, she explored themes such as the family, the body, sexuality and the subconscious. From paintings and prints to large sculpture and installations. Sometimes surreal, often feminist, always original, such as ‘Maman’, one of her huge steel spiders, created for the opening of Tate Modern in 2000.
